About Us
Brayton is a Church of England Primary Academy catering for children from Nursery to Year 6 – (3 – 11 years).
We serve the village of Brayton and surrounding areas.
We currently have over 370 children on roll. We have a 26 place Nursery which is usually over-subscribed.
We are a split site school with Infants being housed in the Victorian side of the school and Juniors in the newer building.
We also have two mobile classrooms – one currently used for the Nursery class and one usually used for a Nurture Group – The Hive.
In the KS1 building, we have the Victorian Hall, KS1 library, six classrooms, offices and meeting rooms.
In the KS2 building, we have the larger hall, seven classrooms, main school kitchen, offices and meeting rooms.
We have a large field with lots of play equipment and not one but four playgrounds! In addition, we have extra play areas dotted around and a special enclosed one for the Foundation Stage Unit.
From September 2022 we will have 14 classes and the Nursery: 2 classes for each National Curriculum year group. Staff plan together in their teams to make sure all children are having the same learning experiences that build on the skills and knowledge from previous years.
Our school is led by Allyson Buckton, our Headteacher. She is ably assisted by all staff, all Governors, all children and all parents – we are all leaders at Brayton. Sometimes we lead – sometimes we follow – we capitalise on everyone’s strengths, everyone’s skills and that way we constantly build capacity to continually improve our school. We are a true family community.
We feel that Brayton is a happy and friendly place to be. We want our children to enjoy learning in a safe and supportive environment. We put a lot of emphasis on our school values and having fun as well as working hard and helping every child to achieve in all aspects of school life.
