This year we have carried on with our STAR MAT sporting events, including cross country, cheerleading, benchball, tag rugby and netball.  We managed to get 60 entries for the Brownlee Foundation triathlon, which meant that most of Year 5 and Year 6 could take part in this introduction to the sport.  We have also been able to plan in swimming sessions again, with a move to a new venue: the community-run Tadcaster Swimming Pool.

Alongside the events and the everyday PE curriculum, we have been working to add different types of outdoor activity across our grounds through the OPAL Play project to promote more creative and active play for all year groups.  This is a long-term project for us as we work with the children around what they want to be able to do at breaks and we keep adding to this over time.
